National Board Scholarship Program Funding Availability for the 2008-2009 Candidate Cycle

Listed below are available scholarship funds for candidates seeking National Board Certification during the 2008-2009 candidate cycle. Please review the list for those scholarships pertaining to the candidates in your state.

State Farm scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Los Angeles Unified school district, the entire state of Texas, and Illinois downstate.
Georgia Pacific scholarship funds are available over a three year period for teachers who teach in Atlanta Public Schools.
GlaxoSmithKline scholarship funds are available for candidates pursuing the EC/Gen, MC/Gen, EA/Science, and AYA/Science certificates. Funds are available for retake candidates who teach in Research Triangle North Carolina and first-time candidates who teach in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia public school districts.
Edison scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in San Bernardino County, San Gabriel Valley, San Joaquin Valley, and Ventura County.
Boeing scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Southern California, those that teach at Gibbs Elementary, and teachers pursuing Take One! at Gibbs Elementary.
Pfizer scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Groton, Connecticut.
Pittsburgh Initiative II scholarship funds are available for teachers who teach in Pittsburgh public school district.
Pitney Bowes scholarship funds are available for teachers pursuing Take One! in Los Angeles Unified school district.
Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation scholarship funds are available for those who teach in Western Pennsylvania.
DC Education Compact scholarship funds are available for those who teach in Washington, DC.
Northrop Grumman scholarship funds are available for first-time, retake, and Take One! candidates who teach Science and Math in schools with 50% or more free or reduced lunch. Teachers must teach in the following locations Huntsville, Ala.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Melbourne, Fla.; St. Augustine, Fla.; Baltimore, Md.; Louisiana and Mississippi Delta Regions; Long Island in New York; Hampton Roads and Newport News Regions in Virginia; Northern Virginia Region and Washington D.C. .
Washington Mutual Foundation (WAMU) scholarship funds are available first-time candidates who teach in Idaho and Utah.
UPS scholarship funds are available for first-tome candidates who teach in Arizona and Texas who are pursuing certification in EMC/LRLA.
